In early October of 2016, the Green Bay Packers tight end Jared Cook found something shocking in his order from Buffalo Wild Wings. While digging into his order of Lemon Pepper chicken wings, Cook uncovered an entire fried chicken head and promptly spit up his food to get a refund. The workers tried to convince him that the discovery meant his food was “fresh”. Even so, Cook says he will not be dining there again.

In 2013, a 27-year-old man named Tony Hinds in Britain found that his Tesco’s Finest brand sausages had a bit more bite than he bargained for. The tooth was spotted by his fiancee, Lauren Gooch who noticed that the tooth even had a filling on it. Tesco’s Finest has made a statement saying that there is no way that sausage arrived in the store with a tooth in it as they have a metal detector that would have noticed the tooth filling before delivery

Mexican fast food chain Moe’s really screwed one of their customers over around four years ago. Reddit user Vyqz found a literal screw wrapped up in his in his burrito. He apparently picked it out of the burrito and finished eating it, but Moe’s also granted him some free queso.

A Popeyes franchise location in New York City came under investigation in September 2016 when a woman found an entire deep fried rat head hidden with the rest of her chicken. Rosemary Thomas shared a series of images of her gross find on Facebook eventually getting attention from Renee Kopowski, a spokesperson for Popeyes who began investigations into the incident. Apparently, finding unusual items in a platter of fried chickens is pretty common, but usually, these items are chicken organs and not rat heads.

A woman dining at a local part of the Au Bon Pain chain ordered a salad and got an extra topping for no extra cost: an entire rat. The woman from Minneapolis ate more than half of her salad before noticing the dead rodent covered in ranch hiding beneath her food.

A woman in Britain opened a can of tuna for dinner only to find a can of parasites instead. Zoe Butler from the UK found a beady-eyed parasite in her tuna, later identified as Cymothoa exigua, a tongue-eating louse. It may also be a tadpole or juvenile crab, but either way, it is not something Butler was expecting to look back at her when she went to make a plate of tuna salad.

Leigh Savage from Melbourne, Australia ordered a Big Mac with extra pickles but instead, found 20 to 30 maggots crawling over the meat patties. When he reported the gross discovery to the McDonald’s staff, they apparently just laughed. However, he was at least given a refund.

In another more recent McNightmare, a woman named Lyn Richie ordered a burger for her daughter and found something disgusting. When they lifted the bun, they found a huge nail clipping in place of any condiments. The British family has decided never to return to the restaurant chain since this incident in 2015.

The Residents of a small Russian town called Tavda are suffering from something truly gross crawling out of their faucets. Tavda is suffering from a plague of worms in their tap water, clogging up water pipes in homes, schools, and even hospitals. These worms were later identified to be mosquito larvae and the residents in town were ordered not to drink or use any of the tap water. Although they have not been deemed dangerous to humans by officials, most residents probably didn’t want to be drinking any of this wormy water.

James and Jasmine Watson were having a date night dinner when they found something truly disgusting fall out of their bag of salad. They ate a few bites of their steak and salad before spotting a soggy 5-inch-long dead bird lying with the greens. The couple ordered the salad online from Tesco, which was once voted the worst supermarket in Britain for apparently good reason. The bag of salad was originally £1.50 but ended up earning them 200 pounds in compensation.

Airplane food isn’t usually touted as the height of anyone’s culinary experience, but Delta Airlines took it to a whole new level of bad in the summer of 2012. Four different sandwiches served by Delta Airlines were found to have one-inch needles embedded into their cold cuts. Dutch police and the FBI, and Delta Airlines themselves looked into the issue although no conclusions were made.
